so we have been out of power since 2 am thursday morning..going on 37 hours.
apparently there were over 300,000 outages yesterday-
we are clearly not on the top of encors power outage list.
i guess that's what you get when you live two streets away from highland park.
after blake & i got home from work yesterday, we tried to figure out what exactly we were going to do in our house with no power.
no lights, no ac, no tv, no music, no internet, no food...horrifying i know.
did we want to go out to dinner, order in, sleep elsewhere, hang out with friends?
well i think we both have agreed that we actually enjoyed our night of no electricty.
after our most recent house guest (see post below), we decided we were going to tough it out &
stay on prescott once again without power.
what made last night so great was that we did things we probably wouldn't have done had there been electricity.
we ordered pizza, sat outside & enjoyed the weather.
we got to know new neighbors.
played with some kiddos.
took LOTS of pics of kiddos.
gave a dog a home for a night.
talked for hours with eachother..in candlelight.
it was so great. really. just being. no silly distractions.
i truly enjoyed the time i spent with blake too. just talking & talking.
i love how we can do that for hours & not be bored.
and i loved so much watching him play with the pup & almost treat it like a child!
it was super cute how much the pup became attached to him too.
anyway, i am, almost in an odd way, glad we lost power.
it was a nice eye opener for me.
showed me how much we rely on it & how it takes away from LIVING.
from involving ourselves in more important things, from things that matter & can impact others.
i remember reading this somewhere recently & definitely find it fitting..{someone said that life is what happens to us while we're making other plans.}
now- just for the record, i am not saying i don't want the power to come back on.
i am ready for it to come back on NOW.
i am just appreciative for last night's time.
ironically, at&t is supposed to come out in the morning to install uverse.
obviously that won't be happening if we don't have power.
maybe i should cancel...
oh & here are some pics of the kiddos i took.
hope you enjoy & have a fabulous weekend!
