progress- 36 week appointment

we had our 36 week check up today.
her heart beat was 130 bpm.
baby fusch has also made some progress...yay!
i am now 75% effaced and 2 cm dilated.
my doctor is still shocked at how low her head is & also said these are really good stats for a first time mom.
this doesn't exactly mean she WILL come early although there is a good chance she may.
i was really glad to know that there was some progress made because beginning 4 or 5 days ago, contractions have really started to pick up.
not only have i been having contractions pretty often but also cramping so i was glad to know they were actually doing something!
other than the contractions- which really haven't been painful and barely uncomfortable, i feel great.

we also met with the specialist one last time to make sure she was still growing since a few weeks ago she seemed very small.
everything looked perfect and she actually caught up to where she is supposed to be.
based on her measurements today, she weighs approx. 6.5 lbs.
they said if i go to my due date, she should weigh between 7 1/2 and 8 pounds.
i think i can handle that!

i can't tell you how much i have enjoyed being pregnant.
it's bittersweet in an odd way because i love everything about her being in me and have no complaints about being pregnant but of course i can't wait to meet her for the first time.
what an amazing moment that must be!

nursery pics

i finally had some time to take some pictures of the completed nursey.
it is so nice to be finished, sitting back, waiting on our baby girl.
she is all we need to be TRULY finished!

i think our main idea behind her nursery was that it was cozy not just for her but for us as well since we will be spending A LOT of time in there.
we also wanted a clean look with lots of white to brighten the room.
you will notice we also were able to fit in a queen bed which i think will be used quite a bit by momma!
i am also REALLY excited about the rocker- i am telling you, it is the most comfortable chair i have ever sat in. seriously.

her first bible...so sweet.

for all your mommies-to-be out there- if you have any questions about where i got things, feel free to ask me!
we have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, our weekly visit as well as a sonogram so i will be sure to update with baby fusch's status.

meeting bentley

here are more pics of baby bentley!
isn't he one handsome baby!!

35 week appointment

we had our 35 week check up this morning.
everything went well and looked normal.
our baby's heart beat was 150 bpm.
now that we are going every week, i am having cervix checks to see if my cervix is dilated or effaced.
our doctor said i am about 50% effaced (thinned) but not dilated.
she also said that our baby girl's head is REALLY low which surprised me considering i am still only going to the bathroom 1-2 times a night.
she actually seemed kind of shocked at how low it was and said that is really good for first time moms.
she said that doesn't mean our baby is coming any earlier but that i have a really high chance of having a successful vaginal delivery which is what i was hoping for!

needless to say, we were very pleased with today's appointment and can't believe we have 4 1/2 weeks left until we finally get to hold her!

we go back next week for our weekly checkup and also to have one last sonogram to make sure everything appears normal.
we also will be interviewing a few pediatricians so please say a prayer that we find a doctor that we will think we will be a good fit for us and baby fusch.

happy hump day!

bentley michael long

bentley michael long was born yesterday, february 11, 2010 at 2:25pm.
he was 8lbs and 19.5 inches long.
he is such a beautiful, healthy baby boy and i know his parents couldn't be happier.
we are going to visit them this afternoon so hopefully i will have some more pics to post.
this just makes ours seem that much more closer!!
can't wait for our lil ones to meet!

praise the Lord

well we made it to the doctor this morning despite the snow and power outages everywhere.
they monitored the baby for 5 minutes to check the heartbeat and her movement.
she did exactly what they wanted- strong heartbeat and was moving around plenty.
then they did a sonogram and checked the placenta, umbilical cord and the amniotic fluid to make sure everything was working properly which it was.
they checked the anatomy, measuring the head, stomach and femur.
everything came out perfect.
her measurements were right at 5lbs.
the doctor said it just seems that i am going to have a smaller baby but that there was abosultely nothing to worry about at this point- that everything was still considered normal.
praise the Lord!

we also confirmed that she is head down and in perfect position for delivery!
i am so relieved that the appointment is over and all is ok!
i know there were lots of family and friends praying for our baby.
thank you thank you!

we are officially 35 weeks now so only 5 more weeks until we meet our baby girl!
can't wait!

happy snowy friday to you!

in other news...

the longs will be delivering their baby boy today at 2pm!!
we are so excited to meet mr. bentley and couldn't be happier for danielle and ryan.
they are going to be such amazing parents.
please keep their family in your prayers today that her c-section goes well and that her and ryan will be holding their healthy baby boy in just a few hours.

we love you both and can't wait to meet your precious son!

34 week doc appt

blake & i had a doctor's appointment this morning.
we are just about 5 weeks out from meeting our baby girl!
my blood pressure was great as it has been throughout this pregnancy.
baby's heart beat was 140 bpm.
my doctor has always said that our baby measured in the normal range but on the smaller side of normal and never seemed concerned.
however, today she said that i have not grown much since the last two weeks and that the baby now is measuring smaller than normal.
she asked if i had been feeling movement, which i have had tons including now- my belly is moving in all sorts of directions as i type and she just had the hiccups not too long ago.
my doctor is having me come back tomorrow morning for a sonogram with a specialist to measure the baby and make sure everything is ok.
it seems that i could just have a petite baby in there (what i am hoping for) or possibly she isn't receiving enough nutrients from the placenta (not what i am hoping for).
either way, please keep us in your prayers that everything is ok with baby fusch and that mommy doesn't worry too much.
i will be sure to update tomorrow after the appointment.
