heartbreaking but beautiful

I found this heartbreaking but beautiful story this morning that I thought I would share.

"Katie Kirkpatrick, 21, held off cancer to celebrate the happiest day of her life. Breathing was difficult now; she had to use oxygen. The pain in her back was so intense it broke through the morphine. Her organs were shutting down but it would not stop her from marrying Nick Godwin, 23, who had been in love with Katie since 11th grade.

Katie & Nick waiting for the nurse to come and start Katie's treatment three days before the wedding.

Nick taking a moment of rest while his bride Katie gets an intravenous procedure to reduce the amount of fluids her body is retaining.

Katie putting on her earrings a few minutes before walking down the aisle to marry Nick.

Katie & Nick cuddle up for a moment waiting for the photographer just after the ceremony.

Katie gets serenaded by her new husband Nick and his best men during the reception.

Five days later, Katie died. She did not let sickness stop her from living, take away the hope or faith that made her believe she had a future. She had a lovely wedding and she had love and she gave love and love doesn't die. And that is how Katie beat cancer."

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever."(Psalm 23:1-6 NIV)
